KVPY Exam

Introduction: KVPY known as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Exam (KVPY Exam) is a national-level scholarship program conducted to support and encourage highly driven students to opt for research careers in basic science courses. It is started  and funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India. The KVPY exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc). Candidates who qualify the ability round are called for a face to face interview. About 3000 out of one lakh aspirants acquire the KVPY fellowship.

Eligibility: for these 3 streams  KVPY is held- SA, SX, and SB. The eligibility criteria are as follows

• SA - Candidates should be a  science student in class 11. A candidate must secure a minimum of 75% in math and science subjects in class 10th board examination. For SC, ST, and PWD, the minimum required score is 65%.

• SX - Candidates must be studying science in class 12. A candidate must secure a minimum of 75% in math and science subjects in class 10th board examination. For SC, ST, and PWD, the minimum required records are 65%. To obtain the scholarship, the candidate must secure a minimum of 60% in math and science subjects in class 12th board exams to take up the fellowship. For SC, ST, and PWD, the minimum required score is  50%.

• SB - Candidates must be studying in their 1st year of Bachelor's degree in any of the fundamental Science courses. A candidate must obtain a minimum of 60% in math and science subjects in class 12th board exams. For SC, ST and PWD, the minimum required score is 50%. To avail the scholarship, the applicant must secure a minimum of 60% in the first year of his undergraduate course to take up the fellowship. For SC, ST, and PWD, the minimum required to score is 50%.
